Virginia Lawyer is the monthly journal of the Virginia State Bar (“VSB”). Its issue for October, 2017, focuses on Health Law and features an article entitled “False Claims Act Liability Has a New Implied Certification Standard, or Does It?” Id. at 34-37.

The False Claims Act (“FCA”) is a federal statute that rewards “whistle-blowers” for reporting and prosecuting health care and other governmental program corruption. Mr. Waterman has been a member of the VSB for 30 years, and his firm handles FCA cases against crooked healthcare providers (such as ones who fraudulently bill the government) and other defrauders of the public.
