On August 18, 2022, Avery T. “Sandy” Waterman, Jr., Esq. at Waterman Law Centers, whose law offices are in Williamsburg, Newport News, and Hampton, again was voted “Lawyer of the Year” by his peers in The Best Lawyers of America for Southeast Virginia. It is the 3rd time in the last 4 years and the 6th time in the last 10 years that he has been so honored. Best Lawyers recognized Mr. Waterman as “Lawyer of the Year” for Medical Malpractice Litigation – Plaintiff for 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2023; and for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiff (vehicle accident victims) for 2022. This also marks the 17th consecutive year since 2007 that he has been named by Best Lawyers both for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiff and for Medical Malpractice – Plaintiff. Mr. Waterman is the only Peninsula lawyer recognized by Best Lawyers for Medical Malpractice – Plaintiff.
