On May 9, 2019, a long-time paid campaign staffer of ex-Rep. Scott Taylor was indicted in Virginia Circuit Court by Special Prosecutor on 2 counts of felony election fraud for petition forgery committed while trying unsuccessfully to get Taylor re-elected. Taylor lost to Virginia’s current 2nd Dist. U.S. Representative, Elaine Luria.

More indictments may follow in coming months. According to the Special Prosecutor, “what actually happened within the campaign headquarters is still a subject of investigation due primarily to lack of cooperation of key individuals.” (underlining added).  Facing 10 years in prison plus $2,500.00 fine, the indicted staffer may plea-bargain and incriminate others in Scott Taylor’s ill-fated campaign circle.

Meanwhile, Rep. Luria has distinguished herself in the House of Representatives’ Committee on Armed Services, where she is Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces; and in its Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where she is Chair of the Subcommittee on Disability Assistances and Memorial Affairs. Her Second District includes Williamsburg, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia, and Eastern Shore localities. Support Elaine Luria!
