The Lamont lawsuit arose out of a head-on collision on Route 60 in Newport News, in which the offending motorist feel asleep, crossed over the centerline, and struck a Williamsburg resident motorist. The victim missed 4 months of work and during the ensuing year incurred almost $85,000.00 in medical expenses for his calcaneal, vertebral and other fractures and psychological counseling.
