Trial is the monthly journal of the American Association for Justice (“AAJ”), formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association (“ATLA”). Its issue for August, 2015, is entitled “BANDING TOGETHER: TRIAL ATTORNEYS COME TOGETHER To Prevent catastrophic Federal Rules changes, Fight against forced arbitration, End distracted driving, [and] Lobby members of Congress”.
Lead article “WORKING TOGETHER TO END DISTRACTED DRIVING” is subtitled “THE FOUNDER OF END DISTRACTED DRIVING SHARES HIS STORY OF LOSS AND SPEAKS TO THE EFFORTS OF TRIAL LAWYERS WORKING TOGETHER TO SAVE LIVES BY ENDING DISTRACTED DRIVING”. Id. at 26-30. Trial highlights: “Distracted driving was involved in almost 60% of teen driver crashes. More teens will be in car crashes caused by distracted driving than those caused by alcohol.” Id. at 28 (emphasis added).
In its “Verdicts & Settlements,” Trial in August, 2015, also covered “Negligent Operation of Tractor Trailers”. It reported a $610,000.00 settlement in Pennsylvania. Id. at 10.
