Trial is the monthly journal of the American Association of Justice (“AAJ”), formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association (“ATLA”).  Its issue for March, 2018 is titled “The Well-Rounded Lawyer”.

March 2018 Trial marquees 4 vehicle accident cases in its “Verdicts & Settlements”. Id. at 12, 14, 16. “Unsafe operation of vehicle” reports a multi-impact SUV rear-ender related to cell phone use resulting in a $461,200.00 2017 Washington jury award. Id. at 12.  “Laundry truck fatally strikes pedestrian in crosswalk” reports a van striking, dragging, and killing a 79-year-old resulting in a $10,600,000.00 2017 New York jury award. Id. at 14.  “Fatal Watercraft collision” reports a $2,880,000.00 2017 Florida settlement paid by a tour guide company. Id.  “Delayed response to emergency” reports a $34,310,000.00 2017 Ohio jury award arising out of a utility’s delayed response to a SUV striking a pole and downing a power line. Id. at 16.
