On August 29, 2017, an Albemarle County, Virginia jury awarded $1,750,000.00 against a nursing home for its employee’s sexual assault of an 85-year-old resident in a medical malpractice case. Notably, it was a survival action for personal injuries against Our Lady of Peace, as the victim died from unrelated causes only 10 weeks afterwards.
