The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) reported a significant post-pandemic increase in traffic deaths. Compared to 2019, in 2020: hit-and-run deaths jumped 29%; speeding-related crash deaths increased 17%; alcohol-related crash deaths escalated 14%; motorcyclist deaths rose 11%; and bicyclist deaths were up 9.2%.
